At Ocean and Outback House Removals we are celebrating 90 years of moving homes across Queensland. That’s a lot of homes and a long time! Our family – the Larsens – have been shifting homes since 1929 when Graham’s grandfather, Percy Larsen, started the family tradition and business.
OUR NEW WEBSITE
As celebration of our great family history we have launched a beautiful new website www.oceanandoutback.com.au and updated new logo, designed by local company Brand House Co. Alan and Bronwyn Wood from Brand House Co have a special connection to removal homes, as they completed and renovated their own home removal only a few years ago. Having been through the process themselves, they were the perfect match to help us create our new online presence.
OUR FAMILY HISTORY
The History page of our new website shows some unique images going back to the first moves executed by Percy Larsen, then his son Selwyn Larsen and more recent moves by Graham. The Services page shows examples (with pictures) of the many varied jobs we offer – not just moving, but lifting, spinning and re-stumping homes as well as contract driving and even boat shifting. On the Case Studies page you can see lots of our past moves across Queensland. One of these homes we believe to possibly be the oldest building in Queensland and is now cared for by the Gayndah Museum.
To create our new website we have been very busy revisiting the homes of our past moves to feature, so that you can see just how amazing they look today renovated and often restored. One of the most outstanding is a home in Cedar Pocket (featured on the home page) which was the original Mayor’s home of Gympie in the 1800s, complete with tin scallop roof detail and steeply pitched roof – it is just stunning!

There are lots of other homes too on the website which have been moved by Ocean and Outback. Today they look a picture in their new locations – from small to large, old to more contemporary – and everything in between. So if you are looking for inspiration, check them out.
